Spirit
Deathless beings born of the Spirit Realm who guard the balance of the natural world and return again each time their physical form is destroyed.
Spirits come from the Spirit Realm rather than the physical world, and the mortality that binds ordinary living things does not apply to them. Their role runs parallel to that of the Celestials: they work to keep the natural world in balance, stepping into the affairs of the world at intervals rather than constantly. The causes a spirit takes up may earn worship from mortals or condemnation from them, and this reception does not appear to change whether the spirit pursues it.
Death does not end a spirit. When the physical form a spirit inhabits is destroyed, that spirit passes back into the Spirit Realm and later returns, resuming whatever purpose it had been pursuing. This makes their conflicts long-running affairs measured against a scale no mortal opponent can match.
Spirits, along with beings a spirit has empowered, commonly hold some capacity to reshape their own physical form. Neither a fixed body nor the ordinary passage of time constrains them the way both constrain beings made of flesh.
